HOUSE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
3Representatives are saddened to learn of the death of Richard
4Moore of Chicago, who passed away on August 12, 2015; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Richard Moore was born in Louisville, Kentucky on
6September 14, 1941 to Lillie and Richard Moore; he was raised
7in Louisville and attended grammar school and high school in
8Kentucky; he received his Bachelor of Arts from Moorehouse
9College in Atlanta and attended Governor's State University for
10his graduate education; he served as a medic during the Vietnam
11War and married Barbara Moore on October 28, 1969; he resided
12on the south side of Chicago for 46 years; and
 
13    WHEREAS, Richard Moore worked as a teacher at the Edward
14Jenner School; he taught language arts and served as a
15disciplinarian; he also served on many boards across the
16Chicago community and in the Cabrini Green neighborhood; and
 
17    WHEREAS, Richard Moore is survived by his children, Tonya
18Byars, Kirk Byars, Monique Moore, and Matthew Moore, and his
19sister, Vera Moore; therefore, be it
 
20    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
21NINETY-NINTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we

1mourn the passing of Richard Moore, and extend our sincere
2condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved
3him; and be it further
 
4    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
5presented to the family of Richard Moore as an expression of
6our deepest sympathy.
