HOUSE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
3Representatives wish to congratulate Robert Chapman Buckley,
4Jr. on the occasion of his retirement from the Chicago Police
5Department; and
 
6    WHEREAS, Robert Buckley, Jr. has over 30 years of public
7service experience with law enforcement as an
8Intergovernmental Affairs Coordinator, policy analyst,
9supervising attorney, and trial attorney; and
 
10    WHEREAS, Robert Buckley, Jr. joined the Chicago Police
11Department in December of 1999 with the Office of the
12Superintendent's Office of Legal Affairs; prior to that, from
13June of 1998 to December of 1999, he worked for the Office of
14the Mayor, and, from May of 1985 to June of 1998, he worked for
15the Cook County State's Attorney's Office; and
 
16    WHEREAS, Robert Buckley, Jr. taught at Northwestern
17University School of Law as an Adjunct Professor of Law,
18Advanced Trial Advocacy, from 1995 through 1999; while there,
19he was the Trial Team Coach, helping his team become National
20Trial Team Champions; he was a member of the American Bar
21Association and the American College of Trial Lawyers; he has
22participated in numerous professional training programs and

1courses designed to further his law enforcement knowledge; and
 
2    WHEREAS, Robert Buckley, Jr. received his Juris Doctor from
3the DePaul University College of Law in 1985 and his Bachelor
4of Science in Business (Finance) in 1981; he was admitted to
5the Illinois Bar on May 9, 1985; and
 
6    WHEREAS, Robert Buckley, Jr.'s retirement will be official
7on June 30, 2015; therefore, be it
 
8    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
9NINETY-NINTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we
10congratulate Robert Chapman Buckley, Jr. on his retirement from
11the Chicago Police Department and we wish him the best in all
12his future endeavors; and be it further
 
13    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
14presented to Robert Buckley, Jr. as an expression of our esteem
15and respect.
