HOUSE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
3Representatives are pleased to congratulate Mark D. Deaton on
425 years as Executive Director of the Illinois Association of
5Healthcare Attorneys (IAHA); and
 
6    WHEREAS, Mark Deaton was appointed Executive Director of
7the IAHA in 1989; and
 
8    WHEREAS, Mark Deaton has guided the IAHA from a small
9organization of just over 100 members to a strong and robust
10organization of more than 800 members from around the State;
11and
 
12    WHEREAS, Mark Deaton has successfully managed the finances
13and resources of the IAHA to allow for steady growth and few
14dues increases while at the same time enhancing the quantity
15and quality of services provided to its members; and
 
16    WHEREAS, Mark Deaton's contributions to the IAHA have
17proven to be indispensable and have immeasurably enhanced its
18ability to serve its members through high quality continuing
19legal education seminars, publications such as the IAHA's
20monthly newsletter and its annual Health Law Survey, the
21recently launched website, and the young lawyer mentoring

1program; and
 
2    WHEREAS, Through his leadership, Mark Deaton has shaped the
3IAHA into the preeminent professional organization for
4healthcare lawyers in the State; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Mark Deaton's selfless dedication to the IAHA has
6benefitted the people of the State by creating better informed
7and more innovative healthcare attorneys and by improving the
8professionalism of Illinois lawyers who guide and advise
9healthcare providers in this State and throughout the country;
10and
 
11    WHEREAS, Mark Deaton's dedication and attention to the
12IAHA's activities and interests has been exemplary; therefore,
13be it
 
14    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
15NINETY-NINTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we
16congratulate Mark D. Deaton on 25 years as Executive Director
17of the Illinois Association of Healthcare Attorneys; and be it
18further
 
19    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
20presented to Mark Deaton as an expression of our esteem and
21respect.
