SYNOPSIS AS INTRODUCED:
 
5 ILCS 490/127 new

    Amends the State Commemorative Dates Act. Designates December 23 of each year as "Scott's Law Day" to honor public safety workers and to remind motorists to slow down, change lanes away from a stationary authorized emergency vehicle, and proceed with due regard to safety and traffic conditions.

1    AN ACT concerning government.
 
2    Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
3represented in the General Assembly:
 
4    Section 5. The State Commemorative Dates Act is amended by
5adding Section 127 as follows:
 
6    (5 ILCS 490/127 new)
7    Sec. 127. Scott's Law Day. December 23 of each year is
8designated as Scott's Law Day, to be observed throughout the
9State as a day to honor public safety workers and to remind
10motorists to slow down, change lanes away from a stationary
11authorized emergency vehicle, and proceed with due regard to
12safety and traffic conditions.
