AMENDMENT TO HOUSE BILL 150

2    AMENDMENT NO. ______. Amend House Bill 150 by replacing
3everything after the enacting clause with the following:
 
4    "Section 10. The University of Illinois Act is amended by
5adding Section 90 as follows:
 
6    (110 ILCS 305/90 new)
7    Sec. 90. Employment prohibition for Class X felony
8conviction. The University may not knowingly employ a person
9who has been convicted, after September 11, 2001, of attempting
10to commit, conspiring to commit, soliciting, or committing a
11Class X felony or any offense committed or attempted in any
12other state or against the laws of the United States that, if
13committed or attempted in this State, would have been
14punishable as a Class X felony.
 
15    Section 15. The Southern Illinois University Management

1Act is amended by adding Section 75 as follows:

3    Sec. 75. Employment prohibition for Class X felony
4conviction. The University may not knowingly employ a person
5who has been convicted, after September 11, 2001, of attempting
6to commit, conspiring to commit, soliciting, or committing a
7Class X felony or any offense committed or attempted in any
8other state or against the laws of the United States that, if
9committed or attempted in this State, would have been
10punishable as a Class X felony.
 
11    Section 20. The Chicago State University Law is amended by
12adding Section 5-185 as follows:
 
13    (110 ILCS 660/5-185 new)
14    Sec. 5-185. Employment prohibition for Class X felony
15conviction. The University may not knowingly employ a person
16who has been convicted, after September 11, 2001, of attempting
17to commit, conspiring to commit, soliciting, or committing a
18Class X felony or any offense committed or attempted in any
19other state or against the laws of the United States that, if
20committed or attempted in this State, would have been
21punishable as a Class X felony.
 
22    Section 25. The Eastern Illinois University Law is amended

10punishable as a Class X felony.
 
11    Section 30. The Governors State University Law is amended
12by adding Section 15-185 as follows:

15conviction. The University may not knowingly employ a person
16who has been convicted, after September 11, 2001, of attempting
17to commit, conspiring to commit, soliciting, or committing a

19other state or against the laws of the United States that, if
20committed or attempted in this State, would have been
21punishable as a Class X felony.

11    Section 40. The Northeastern Illinois University Law is
12amended by adding Section 25-185 as follows:

14    Sec. 25-185. Employment prohibition for Class X felony
15conviction. The University may not knowingly employ a person
16who has been convicted, after September 11, 2001, of attempting
17to commit, conspiring to commit, soliciting, or committing a
18Class X felony or any offense committed or attempted in any
19other state or against the laws of the United States that, if
20committed or attempted in this State, would have been
21punishable as a Class X felony.

8other state or against the laws of the United States that, if
9committed or attempted in this State, would have been
10punishable as a Class X felony.
 
11    Section 50. The Western Illinois University Law is amended
12by adding Section 35-190 as follows:

14    Sec. 35-190. Employment prohibition for Class X felony
15conviction. The University may not knowingly employ a person
16who has been convicted, after September 11, 2001, of attempting
17to commit, conspiring to commit, soliciting, or committing a
18Class X felony or any offense committed or attempted in any
19other state or against the laws of the United States that, if
20committed or attempted in this State, would have been
21punishable as a Class X felony.

2    (110 ILCS 805/3-29.11 new)
3    Sec. 3-29.11. Employment prohibition for Class X felony
4conviction. A community college may not knowingly employ a
5person who has been convicted, after September 11, 2001, of
6attempting to commit, conspiring to commit, soliciting, or
7committing a Class X felony or any offense committed or
8attempted in any other state or against the laws of the United
9States that, if committed or attempted in this State, would
10have been punishable as a Class X felony.
 
11    Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect upon
12becoming law.".
