SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of E. Wilson Slack, who passed away on
4November 1, 2014; and
 
5    WHEREAS, E. Wilson Slack was born on October 9, 1927 in Kaw
6City, Oklahoma; his mother was Clara Hyde; he married the love
7of his life, Shirlene Stoneking, on May 28, 1950 in Nowata,
8Oklahoma; and
 
9    WHEREAS, E. Wilson Slack joined the United States Navy in
101945 at the age of 17; he proudly served his country during
11World War II; and
 
12    WHEREAS, Following his military service, E. Wilson Slack
13attended Oklahoma A & M College (now Oklahoma State
14University), where he graduated with a Bachelor of Science
15degree; and
 
16    WHEREAS, E. Wilson Slack worked for Amoco Oil Company
17(British Petroleum) for 38 years; and
 
18    WHEREAS, E. Wilson Slack enjoyed golfing, reading books,
19and spending time with his family; and

1    WHEREAS, E. Wilson Slack was preceded in death by his
2mother and 2 brothers, Delbert and Benjamin; and
 
3    WHEREAS, E. Wilson Slack is survived by his wife, Shirlene;
42 sons, Kevin Slack and Steven (Leeann) Slack; 8 grandchildren,
5Kyle Slack, Curtis Slack, Colin Slack, Christopher Slack, Dan
6(Melissa) Slack, Mike (Renee) Slack, Rachael (Ben) Jaudon, and
7Ellie (Paul) Kinman; and 5 great-grandchildren; therefore, be
8it
 
9    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL
10ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with his
11family and friends, mourn the passing of E. Wilson Slack; and
12be it further
 
13    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
14presented to the family of E. Wilson Slack as an expression of
15our sympathy.
