SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Raymond R. Suste, who passed away on
4October 20, 2014; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Raymond Suste was born in Joliet and was a
6lifetime resident; his parents were Mary (nee Knezetich) and
7George Suste; and
 
8    WHEREAS, Raymond Suste served as a Staff Sergeant with the
9United States Army in Battalion F, 3rd Infantry Division in the
10Battle of the Bulge during World War II; and
 
11    WHEREAS, Raymond Suste retired from the United States Steel
12Corporation after 38 1/2 years of service; and
 
13    WHEREAS, Raymond Suste was a member and past president of
14the St. Mary Nativity Catholic Church Senior Club (formerly the
15Joannites) and a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Cantigny
16Post #367; and
 
17    WHEREAS, Raymond Suste was an avid bowler; he also loved
18being in the sun, yard work, gardening, and fishing; and
 
19    WHEREAS, Raymond Suste was preceded in death by his wife,

1Ann (nee Macko); his parents; 5 siblings, Lucille (the late
2Robert) Nasenbenny, Delores (the late Charles) Traven,
3Lorraine "Lori" (the late James) Maccono, John (the late Ann)
4Suste, and Joseph (the late Agnes) Suste; and a sister-in-law,
5Delores Suste; and
 
6    WHEREAS, Raymond Suste is survived by 7 children, Paula
7(James) Paris, Jeri (Denny) Moore, Ray Suste, Jr., Judy (Perry)
8Olin, Tim (Mary) Suste, Tom Suste, and Maribeth Suste-Williams;
911 grandchildren, Andrew (Kim) Flynn, Hayley, Aaron
10(Christine), Jason, Justin Olin, Nina (Matt) Bartels, Nolan
11Suste, Brandon (Christina) Suste, Torean Suste, Erica Kenney,
12and Scott Southcomb; and 4 great-grandchildren, Daviante,
13Gianna, Logan, and Julian; therefore, be it
 
14    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL
15ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with his
16family and friends, mourn the passing of Raymond R. Suste; and
17be it further
 
18    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
19presented to the family of Raymond Suste as an expression of
20our sympathy.
