SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Rebecca Jane "Becky" Malkovich, who
4passed away on September 22, 2014; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Rebecca Malkovich was born on April 25, 1961 in
6Benton; her parents were Daniel Leon Malkovich and Joe Anne
7(nee Choisser) Malkovich; and
 
8    WHEREAS, Rebecca Malkovich graduated from Benton
9Consolidated High School in 1979; she later earned her
10bachelor's degree in journalism from Southern Illinois
11University in Carbondale; and
 
12    WHEREAS, Rebecca Malkovich worked as a reporter reporting
13for her family-owned Benton Evening News for 9 years; she later
14joined the staff of The Southern Illinoisan in late 2003,
15working as a reporter on many diverse topics; and
 
16    WHEREAS, Rebecca Malkovich enjoyed spending time with her
17family and friends, music, good writing, coffee, and her pets,
18Captain and Kitty; and
 
19    WHEREAS, Rebecca Malkovich was preceded in death by her
20parents; a sister, Amanda Malkovich; and a brother, Daniel

1Malkovich; and
 
2    WHEREAS, Rebecca Malkovich is survived by her sons, Jake
3Ivanovich and Eli Ivanovich; a brother, John (Nicole Peyran)
4Malkovich; a sister, Melissa Malkovich; a sister-in-law,
5Debbie Malkovich; 5 nieces and nephews, Matthew (Brandi)
6Malkovich, Loewy and Amandine Malkovich, Jesse (Anh Dao Pham)
7Starita, and Tim (Kim) Eubanks; a grandnephew, T.J. Eubanks;
8and 2 grandnieces, Bayley Eubanks and Mila Joe Malkovich;
9therefore, be it
 
10    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL
11ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with her
12family and friends, mourn the passing of Rebecca Jane "Becky"
13Malkovich; and be it further
 
14    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
15presented to the family of Rebecca Malkovich as an expression
16of our sympathy.
