SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of James Edward Foster, Sr. of Carlinville,
4who passed away on July 14, 2014; and
 
5    WHEREAS, James Foster, Sr. was born on July 3, 1927 in
6Miller City; his parents were Herron Cecil Foster and
7Georgeanna (nee Dain) Foster; he married Helen Faye Foster on
8February 10, 1951; and
 
9    WHEREAS, After high school, James Foster, Sr. served his
10country as a member of the United States Navy during World War
11II aboard the USS Marquette; and
 
12    WHEREAS, After serving his country, James Foster, Sr. went
13to work as a manager for Tri-City Grocery Stores for more than
1430 years; he also worked as a manager for Harmon's IGA stores;
15and
 
16    WHEREAS, James Foster, Sr. enjoyed flying and was a private
17pilot, flight instructor, and commercial pilot; and
 
18    WHEREAS, James Foster, Sr. was a member of the Mount Nebo
19Masonic Lodge in Carlinville and Trinity Assembly of God Church
20in Olive Branch; and

1    WHEREAS, James Foster, Sr. was preceded in death by his
2parents; his wife, Helen; a brother, Raymond; and a sister,
3Helen; and
 
4    WHEREAS, James Foster, Sr. is survived by 3 sons, James
5(Rita) Foster, Jr., Gary (Robin) Foster, and Michael (Margie)
6Foster; 3 daughters, Sheila Foster, Deborah (Mike) Wilson, and
7Amy (Jerry) Wilson; 7 grandchildren, Stephanie (Brian) Eldred,
8Jamie Foster, Kara Wilson (Mike Kaskey), Rachel Wilson, Jessica
9(Robert) Ford, Steven (Anne) Foster, and Marissa Foster; 7
10great-grandchildren, Robert "Tripp" Ford, III, Austin Kaskey,
11Matthew and Elyse Eldred, and Gwen, Kendall, and Kathleen
12Foster; 2 sisters, Evelyn Williams and JoAnn Brubaker; and many
13nieces, nephews, and other relatives; therefore, be it
 
14    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL
15ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with his
16family and friends, mourn the passing of James Edward Foster,
17Sr.; and be it further
 
18    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
19presented to the family of James Foster, Sr. as an expression
20of our sympathy.
