SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Joan Provencio of Woodstock, who passed
4away on June 1, 2014; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Joan Provencio was born on October 3, 1934 in Cold
6Springs, Minnesota; her parents were Andrew and Marion (nee
7Pryor) Slight; and
 
8    WHEREAS, Joan Provencio served as a volunteer and worked
9for Nuestros Pequenos Hermanos Orphanage in Mexico and served
10as Madre to thousands of children; she retired in 2010 as the
11Executive Director of NPH International; and
 
12    WHEREAS, Joan Provencio was preceded in death by her
13parents; her husband, Al Provencio; a sister, Marilyn Long; and
142 cousins, Katherine McDonough and Janet Cremin; and
 
15    WHEREAS, Joan Provencio is survived by her cousin, Betty
16(George) Boesen; 3 nieces, Mary (Brian) Fodor, Patty (Rusty)
17Williams, and Susan Long; a nephew, Andy (Sharon) Long; and her
18NPH family throughout the world; therefore, be it
 
19    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL
20ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with her

1family and friends, mourn the passing of Joan Provencio; and be
2it further
 
3    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
4presented to the family of Joan Provencio as an expression of
5our sympathy.
