SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Dennis Wayne Quillen of Rushville, who
4passed away on May 5, 2014; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Dennis Quillen was born in Rushville on September
614, 1942 to Wayne B. and Mary Eleanor (nee Rexroat) Quillen; he
7graduated from Rushville High School in 1960 and served in the
8United States Air Force with the Illinois Air National Guard
9183rd Fighter Wing for 9 years; he married Judy M. Ryan on
10October 3, 1965 at First United Methodist Church in Rushville;
11and
 
12    WHEREAS, Dennis Quillen worked at Bartlow Brothers, Inc. in
13Rushville for 36 years, retiring in 1997; he was an active
14partner in Quillen Farms and Quillen Trucking; and
 
15    WHEREAS, Dennis Quillen was a member of First United
16Methodist Church in Rushville, the Schuyler County Farm Bureau,
17and the Schuyler American Legion Post #4; he had served on the
18Schuyler County Fair Board since 1980, serving recently as
19Vice-President; and
 
20    WHEREAS, Dennis Quillen enjoyed pole fishing, hunting deer
21and elk, and working with his Polled Hereford Cattle; and

1    WHEREAS, Dennis Quillen was preceded in death by his
2parents, and by a sister-in-law, Candy Quillen; and
 
3    WHEREAS, Dennis Quillen is survived by his wife, Judy; 2
4sons, Steve (Terri) Quillen and Ryan Quillen; one
5granddaughter, Megan Quillen; and one brother, Larry Quillen;
6therefore, be it
 
7    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL
8ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
9Dennis Wayne Quillen, and extend our sincere condolences to his
10family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
11further
 
12    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
13presented to the family of Dennis Quillen as an expression of
14our deepest sympathy.
