SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Arlan "Frank" Mir of Godfrey, who passed
4away on May 3, 2014; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Arlan Mir was born in Durango, Colorado on August
623, 1931 to William and Irene (nee Kettler) Mir; he served in
7the United States Air Force and married Phyllis Wright on March
827, 1976; and
 
9    WHEREAS, Arlan Mir worked for McDonnell Douglas as Director
10of Manufacturing, retiring in 1989 after 36 years of service;
11from 1992-1995, he worked as Vice-President of Operations on
12the B2-Bomber in Palmdale, California at Northrop Grumman; and
 
13    WHEREAS, Arlan Mir was a former member of the Alton Eagles
14Fraternal Order of Eagles No. 254, the Elks Lodge 2316 in
15Florissant, Missouri, and he was a 3rd Degree Knight with the
16Knights of Columbus in Bunker Hill; since 2005, he spent the
17winter months in Pharr, Texas; and
 
18    WHEREAS, Arlan Mir was preceded in death by his parents; a
19brother, William Mir; a sister, Joelene Zellitti; 2
20brothers-in-law, Manuel Continho and Al Zellitti; and his
21Teacup Poodle Chihuahua, Mindy; and

1    WHEREAS, Arlan Mir is survived by his wife, Phyllis; 3
2sons, William C. Mir, Robert Mir (Claire), and Robert Curry; 2
3daughters, Sheryl Lincoln and Debra Randol (Don); 9
4grandchildren, Nicole Stephenson (Matt), Jennifer Kelsey (Ed),
5Heather Gehner (Luke), Jacqueline Mir, Rebecca Lincoln, Ryan
6Mir, Christopher Lincoln, Jessica Mir, and Charles Randol; 8
7great-grandchildren, Nolan Kelsey, Brady Michael McNamee,
8Logan Kelsey, Natalie Mir, Caden Gehner, Owen Kelsey, Sophia
9Stephenson, and Eagan Gehner; a sister, Lois Continho; a
10sister-in-law, Wanda Mir; and his beloved Bichon dog, Mandy;
11therefore, be it
 
12    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL
13ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
14Arlan "Frank" Mir, and extend our sincere condolences to his
15family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
16further
 
17    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
18presented to the family of Arlan Mir as an expression of our
19deepest sympathy.
