SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of James P. "Ski" Glogovsky of Algonquin,
4who passed away on April 9, 2014; and
 
5    WHEREAS, James Glogovsky was born in North Chicago on July
66, 1939 to Stephan and Pauline (nee Drinka) Glogovsky; he
7attended North Elementary School in North Chicago and graduated
8from North Chicago High School, where he was a member of the
9basketball and baseball teams; he later played
10semi-professional baseball; he married Mary Kay Gont in 1959 at
11Holy Family Church in North Chicago; and
 
12    WHEREAS, James Glogovsky attended the Chicago Police
13Academy and began his law enforcement career in Waukegan as a
14detective; he and his family moved to Lake Zurich in 1971,
15where he became a patrolman, and later Chief, with the Lake
16Zurich Police Department; he was a member of the Lake County
17Chiefs Association, serving as President; he retired from the
18Lake Zurich Police Department in 1991; and
 
19    WHEREAS, James Glogovsky enjoyed playing in the Lake Zurich
20Police Department's softball and golf leagues and spending time
21with his buddies at the bait shop; he was a member of St.
22Francis de Sales Catholic Church, serving in the parish's

1Ministry of Care; and
 
2    WHEREAS, James Glogovsky was preceded in death by his
3father, Stephan and mother, Pauline; brothers, Thomas, George,
4Steve (Donna), and Frank (Kay); and sisters, Elizabeth
5(Richard) Redmer and Mary (Paul) Pobicki; and
 
6    WHEREAS, James Glogovsky was the beloved husband of the
7late Mary Kay; loving father of Margie (Tom) O'Neil, Karan
8Miller, Jamie (Fred) Hoeft, and Nancy Glogovsky; loving
9grandfather of James (Heather) Hoeft, Kathy and Nancy O'Neil,
10and Jordan and Nick Miller; dear brother of Joseph (Carol)
11Glogovsky; and also surviving are many other loving family,
12nieces, nephews, cousins, and many, many dear friends;
13therefore, be it
 
14    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL
15ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
16James P. "Ski" Glogovsky, and extend our sincere condolences to
17his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
18further
 
19    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
20presented to the family of James Glogovsky as an expression of
21our deepest sympathy.
