SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Gerald A. Olszewski of Gurnee, who passed
4away on April 2, 2014; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Gerald Olszewski was born on March 31, 1950 in
6Chicago; his parents were Bernard and Irene (nee Guzniczak)
7Olszewski; he lived in Wildwood for many years; and
 
8    WHEREAS, Gerald Olszewski proudly served as a member of the
9United States Army during the Vietnam War; and
 
10    WHEREAS, Gerald Olszewski worked at Midwest Generation in
11Waukegan as a material and supply coordinator for many years
12until his retirement on October 1, 2011; and
 
13    WHEREAS, Gerald Olszewski was a member of the International
14Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Local 15 in Downers Grove;
15and
 
16    WHEREAS, Gerald Olszewski enjoyed going to tractor shows,
17cooking, trains, antiques, and Sinclair memorabilia; and
 
18    WHEREAS, Gerald Olszewski was preceded in death by his
19parents; a sister-in-law, Karen Olszewski; and a

1brother-in-law, Richard Francisco; and
 
2    WHEREAS, Gerald Olszewski is survived by 4 siblings, Eileen
3(William) Lechner, Bernard Olszewski, Marcella Francisco, and
4Allan (Susan) Olszewski; 5 nieces and nephews, Dr. Elizabeth
5Lechner, Thomas Lechner, Megan Olszewski, Daniel Olszewski,
6and Kevin Olszewski; a great-nephew, Elliott; and many other
7relatives and friends; therefore, be it
 
8    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL
9ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with his
10family and friends, mourn the passing of Gerald A. Olszewski;
11and be it further
 
12    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
13presented to the family of Gerald Olszewski as an expression of
14our sympathy.
