SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of David C. Foster of Danville, who passed
4away on January 29, 2014; and
 
5    WHEREAS, David Foster was born on April 30, 1947 in
6Danville to Leborn Alvis and Charlett Maxine (nee Cross)
7Foster; he graduated from Danville High School and served in
8the United States Navy from 1965-1967; he married Lynn Ford on
9April 21, 1986; and
 
10    WHEREAS, David Foster worked in the plumbing industry for
11over 40 years and was a member of Plumbers and Steamfitters
12Local 293, and then Local 157; and
 
13    WHEREAS, David Foster was a member of the Eastern Illinois
14Shrine Club, the Kiwanis Club, and the Anchor Lodge; he was an
15active precinct committeeman, a life-long Democrat, and a labor
16activist and former President of the Danville Area AFL-CIO; he
17was also a former member of the Vermilion County Conservation
18Board of Directors; and
 
19    WHEREAS, David Foster loved children and volunteered for
20the Shriner's Children's Hospital; he was an avid storyteller
21and delivered many Meals-on-Wheels to the community; he was a

1fan of the Chicago Bears, the New Orleans Saints, Illini
2Sports, and NASCAR; he was a history "buff" and enjoyed
3traveling to try new things and meet new people; and
 
4    WHEREAS, David Foster was preceded in death by his father
5and by his sister, Linda Rusmisel; and
 
6    WHEREAS, David Foster is survived by his wife, Lynn; his
7daughter, Decema Lynette Foster-Howe; his son, Lee Gregg
8Foster; his sister, Rebecca (Bill) Keith; his grandson, Levi
9Nicholas; his granddaughters, Nakiseta and Aerial Foster and
10Nicole Leigh Foster; and several nieces and nephews; therefore,
11be it
 
12    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL
13ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
14David C. Foster, and extend our sincere condolences to his
15family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
16further
 
17    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
18presented to the family of David Foster as an expression of our
19deepest sympathy.
