SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Alexander L. Van Meter of Galesburg, who
4passed away on November 24, 2013; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Alexander Van Meter was born on November 2, 1991,
6in Peoria, to Roy and Sherry LaPayne Van Meter; he graduated
7from Herscher High School in 2010 and attended Kankakee
8Community College, where he studied Biomedical Engineering; he
9enlisted in the United States Air Force on March 19, 2013 and
10graduated from Basic Training on May 17, 2013; and
 
11    WHEREAS, Alexander Van Meter liked playing hockey and was
12an avid Chicago Blackhawks fan; he enjoyed spending time with
13friends, playing video games, and eating cookies; and
 
14    WHEREAS, Alexander Van Meter was preceded in death by his
15grandmother, Ruth Lingner, and by his grandparents, Jack and
16Connie LaPayne; and
 
17    WHEREAS, Alexander Van Meter is survived by his parents;
18his brother, Nicholas Van Meter; his grandfather, Elwyn (Elsa)
19Van Meter; and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins; therefore,
20be it

1    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL
2ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
3Alexander L. Van Meter, and extend our sincere condolences to
4his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
5further
 
6    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
7presented to the family of Alexander Van Meter as an expression
8of our deepest sympathy.
