SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of John Elbert Julian of Alton, who passed
4away on July 18, 2013; and
 
5    WHEREAS, John Julian was born on January 12, 1918, in
6Cline's Island, Missouri, to George and Ella (Phelps) Julian;
7he served his country during World War II in the United States
8Marines as a gunner on a Douglas-Dauntless dive bomber at
9Guadalcanal; he also served in the Korean War and in the
10Civilian Conservation Corps of New Madrid, Missouri; he married
11Nellie Mae Peters; and
 
12    WHEREAS, John Julian worked as a mechanic for Ozark
13Airlines; and
 
14    WHEREAS, John Julian was a 32nd degree Mason in Sikeston
15and a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars in Sikeston and
16Alton; and
 
17    WHEREAS, John Julian was preceded in death by his parents;
18his wife; and his siblings, George, Wanda, Camille, Wilma,
19Alva, and Beatrice; and
 
20    WHEREAS, John Julian is survived by his sons, Barry (Gaye)

1Julian, Jeff (Tammy) Julian, and George R. (Donna) Julian; his
2grandchildren, Benjamin (Megan) Julian, Matthew, Nicholas,
3John, Wendy, and Jeff Julian; his great-grandchildren, Hailey
4and Andrew Julian and Kaylee Roth; therefore, be it
 
5    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL
6ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
7John Elbert Julian, and extend our sincere condolences to his
8family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
9further
 
10    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
11presented to the family of John Julian as an expression of our
12deepest sympathy.
