HOUSE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
3Representatives wish to congratulate R.E. "Rick" Szalach on the
4occasion of his retirement as the Refinery Manager of the Exxon
5Mobil Corporation's Joliet Refinery; and
 
6    WHEREAS, Rick Szalach first joined the Mobil Oil Company in
7Buffalo, New York as a project engineer in May of 1979; he
8subsequently progressed through a number of engineering and
9supervisory positions with the company in Buffalo and Beaumont,
10Texas before being appointed as Assistant Manager at the
11Central Service Maintenance Department at the Paulsboro
12Refinery in 1988; and
 
13    WHEREAS, Rick Szalach served the Mobil Oil Company in
14several capacities; he was named as Maintenance Manager at the
15Paulsboro Refinery in 1994, serving there until his return to
16the Beaumont Refinery as Production Manager in 1997; in 2000,
17he was appointed as Process Manager of Beaumont Refinery, where
18he served until he was selected to serve as the Americas
19Product Optimization Manager of Global Logistics Optimization
20in Fairfax, Virginia; and
 
21    WHEREAS, In 2005, Rick Szalach was named Refinery Manager
22of the Joliet Refinery; he served in that position until his

1retirement from the Exxon Mobil Corporation; and
 
2    WHEREAS, Rick Szalach is well known for his extensive and
3impressive educational background and his keen business
4acumen; he earned his Bachelors of Science in Mechanical
5Engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute and his
6Master of Science in Engineering and Business Management from
7Lamar University; and
 
8    WHEREAS, Rick Szalach shares this honor with his wife,
9Stephanie, and his daughters; therefore, be it
 
10    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
11NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
12we congratulate R.E. "Rick" Szalach on the occasion of his
13retirement as the Refinery Manager of the Exxon Mobil
14Corporation's Joliet Refinery and wish him the best in all his
15future endeavors; and be it further
 
16    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
17presented to Rick Szalach as an expression of our esteem and
18respect.
