HOUSE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
3Representatives are pleased to congratulate Craig M. Gilmore on
4the occasion of his retirement from State Farm; and
 
5    WHEREAS, After nearly 40 years of service to State Farm
6policyholders, Director of Multicultural Markets and Agency
7Field Executive Craig Gilmore, CPCU, will retire effective
8April 1, 2013; and
 
9    WHEREAS, Following his graduation from Illinois State
10University, Craig Gilmore began his State Farm career in 1973
11as an auto underwriter in Bloomington; after 3 years in
12underwriting and a year as an operations supervisor, he spent
1310 years in human resources, which included work in Illinois
14and Texas and 2 tours of duty at the corporate headquarters;
15and
 
16    WHEREAS, In 1988, Craig Gilmore became a scratch agent (new
17market) in Chicago and 3 years later became an agency manager;
18he moved from agency field leadership to an agency field
19executive in 1995 and then became State Farm's first regional
20director of multicultural markets; and
 
21    WHEREAS, Craig Gilmore has been an active community leader,

1chairman of the board of directors for 100 Black Men of Chicago
2Inc., and a dedicated member of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Nu
3Psi Lambda chapter; and
 
4    WHEREAS, Craig Gilmore plans to stay active in various
5community, civic, and business ventures; he plans to enjoy
6traveling, bicycling, fitness, reading, concerts, and spending
7time with his wife, Judy, his family, and friends; therefore,
8be it
 
9    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
10NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
11we congratulate Craig Gilmore on his retirement from State Farm
12after almost 40 years, thank him for his service, and wish him
13well in all his future endeavours; and be it further
 
14    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
15presented to Craig Gilmore as an expression of our esteem and
16respect.
