    Amends the Workers' Compensation Act and the Workers' Occupational Diseases Act. Requires an employer to file a statement with the Workers' Compensation Commission regarding compliance with those Acts when terminating an injured employee.

1    AN ACT concerning business.
 
2    Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
3represented in the General Assembly:
 
4    Section 5. The Workers' Compensation Act is amended by
5adding Section 25.8 as follows:
 
6    (820 ILCS 305/25.8 new)
7    Sec. 25.8. Termination of injured employee; notice to
8Commission. An employer that seeks to terminate an employee who
9has been injured and is covered under this Act must file a
10statement with the Commission documenting that all claims made
11by the employee under this Act have been settled and that the
12employee's right to be made whole has not been violated. The
13statement must also document, if applicable, that the employee
14has received all compensation, awards, and other remedies
15available as a consequence of the injury. The statement shall
16be filed before the termination.
 
17    Section 10. The Workers' Occupational Diseases Act is
18amended by adding Section 18.5 as follows:
