SYNOPSIS AS INTRODUCED:
 
730 ILCS 5/5-9-1.14

    Amends the Unified Code of Corrections relating to the additional child pornography fine. Provides that if Department of State Police officers investigated the case that gave rise to the conviction of the defendant for child pornography, the additional fine shall be remitted by the circuit clerk within one month after receipt to the State Treasurer for deposit into the State Crime Laboratory Fund. When the Department of State Police provides assistance to another law enforcement agency which investigated the case that gave rise to the conviction of the defendant for child pornography, $100 of the additional fine shall be remitted by the circuit clerk within one month after receipt to the State Treasurer for deposit into the State Crime Laboratory Fund.

1    AN ACT concerning criminal law.
 
2    Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
3represented in the General Assembly:
 
4    Section 5. The Unified Code of Corrections is amended by
5changing Section 5-9-1.14 as follows:
 
6    (730 ILCS 5/5-9-1.14)
7    Sec. 5-9-1.14. Additional child pornography fines. In
8addition to any other penalty imposed, a fine of $500 shall be
9imposed upon a person convicted of child pornography under
10Section 11-20.1 of the Criminal Code of 1961 or the Criminal
11Code of 2012. The Such additional fine shall be assessed by the
12court imposing sentence and shall be collected by the circuit
13clerk. Of this fee, $5 shall be deposited into the Circuit
14Court Clerk Operation and Administrative Fund created by the
15circuit clerk Clerk of the Circuit Court to be used to offset
16the costs incurred by the circuit clerk Circuit Court Clerk in
17performing the additional duties required to collect and
18disburse funds to entities of State and local government as
19provided by law. Each such additional fine shall be remitted by
20the circuit clerk Circuit Court Clerk within one month after
21receipt to the unit of local government whose law enforcement
22officers investigated the case that gave rise to the conviction
