SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Harold Roger Neiman, Jr., who passed away
4on December 22, 2012; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Harold Neiman, Jr. was born on April 26, 1951; his
6parents were Harold and Pauline Neiman; he married Fabienne
7Williams in 1995; and
 
8    WHEREAS, Harold Neiman, Jr. was a lifelong resident of
9Chicago; he attended Charles R. Drew Elementary School and
10Frank L. Gillespie Upper Grade Center and before graduating
11from Harlan High School, where he excelled in baseball and
12swimming; he also played 16-inch softball with the Zodiacs
13during the summers; and
 
14    WHEREAS, Harold Neiman, Jr. was employed with the Chicago
15Public School system for over 20 years; he was also a licensed
16stationary engineer; and
 
17    WHEREAS, In 1994, Harold Neiman, Jr. and his then-fiancee
18joined the Faith Community of St. Sabina; together, they served
19in the New Members/New Believers ministry, the Ministry of
20Care, the Diaconate, and the Lectors/Commentators Ministry and
21taught classes on HIV/AIDS prevention; in 2002, he and his wife

1entered the Diaconate Formation Program of the Archdiocese of
2Chicago; in 2006, he was ordained as a deacon and began serving
3the Faith Community of St. Sabina, where he worked until his
4passing; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Harold Neiman, Jr. enjoyed dancing, spending time
6with his family and friends, peanut butter and jelly sandwiches
7and dinner rolls, and watching the Chicago White Sox and the
8Chicago Bulls; and
 
9    WHEREAS, Harold Neiman, Jr. was preceded in death by his
10brother, Kenneth; and
 
11    WHEREAS, Harold Neiman, Jr. is survived by his loving wife,
12Fabienne; his parents, Harold, Sr. and Pauline; his sister,
13Flavin; his brother, David; his stepsons, Wendell (Nicole) Fair
14and Christopher Rouffa; his grandchildren, Wayne, Wade,
15Whitley, and Haley Fair and Nicholas Clay; his uncle and aunt,
16Austin and June Johnson; and his many cousins, brothers and
17sisters in Christ, and friends; therefore, be it
 
18    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL
19ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with
20his family and friends, the passing of Harold Roger Neiman,
21Jr.; and be it further
