SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Thomas J. "Tom" Cook of Oswego, who
4passed away on November 28, 2012; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Thomas Cook graduated from Mt. Carmel High School
6in Chicago in 1957; he was very active with the school's Alumni
7Group; and
 
8    WHEREAS, Thomas Cook worked with the R.C. Wegman
9Construction Company on many local projects, his proudest being
10the Hollywood Casino in Aurora; and
 
11    WHEREAS, Thomas Cook was a proud member of many
12associations and organizations within the Aurora community,
13including the Rotary Club, the Aurora Contractors Association,
14the Fox Valley Corvette Club, and the Aurora Economic
15Development Commission; he was also co-chairman of the
16Millennium Plaza of Aurora, chairman of the board of 'Seize the
17Future', and a past chairman of the Aurora Chamber of Commerce;
18and
 
19    WHEREAS, Thomas Cook was a member of the New Life Church in
20Yorkville and served on the church's Board of Directors; and

1    WHEREAS, Thomas Cook enjoyed boating, motorcycles, and
2cars, especially Corvettes; and
 
3    WHEREAS, Thomas Cook was the beloved husband of Jean (nee
4Jacobsen); the loving father of Thomas Jr. (Donna), Kathryn,
5Michael (Janel), and John (Trisha); and the cherished
6grandfather of Michael, Alex, Danielle, R.J. Miranda, Ashley,
7Alyssa, Ainslee, Matthew, Chase, Nicole, and Hayden; he is also
8survived by many loving nieces, nephews, relatives, and
9friends; therefore, be it
 
10    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL
11ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with
12his family and friends, the passing of Thomas J. "Tom" Cook;
13and be it further
 
14    RESOLVED, That suitable copies of this resolution be
15presented to the family of Thomas Cook as an expression of our
16sympathy.
