SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are deeply
3saddened to learn of the death of Alice M. Bunce of Aurora, who
4passed away on October 27, 2012; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Alice Bunce was born on January 31, 1921, in
6Brooklyn, New York to Enea and Maria Mazzotti; she married
7Merritt Morse in October of 1942, who was killed in action
8while serving his country in France during World War II; she
9married Roger Bunce in 1947, and spent time living in North
10Carolina, Virginia, New Mexico, and New York while he was in
11the military; and
 
12    WHEREAS, Alice Bunce always maintained an active family
13life; she was a gifted artist and worked as a fashion
14illustrator for Lane Bryant in New York; she was a selfless,
15devoted mother and wife to her family; and
 
16    WHEREAS, Alice Bunce was preceded in death by her parents,
17Enea and Maria Mazzotti; her first husband, Merritt Morse; her
18second husband, Roger Bunce; her son, Gary Bunce; and her two
19half-brothers, Leo and Charles Mazzotti; and
 
20    WHEREAS, Alice Bunce is survived by her sons, Art Bunce and
21Nathan "Billy" Combs; her daughter, Joanne (Richard) Jaycox;

1her grandchildren, Michael Jaycox, Katherine Bunce, Colleen
2Jaycox, Alex Bunce; her sister, Anita (Robert) Cappossella; her
3daughter-in-law, Charlotte Bunce; and her nieces, nephews, and
4many cousins; therefore, be it
 
5    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL
6ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
7Alice Bunce, and we extend our sincere condolences to her
8family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it
9further
 
10    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
11presented to the family of Alice Bunce as an expression of our
12deepest sympathy.
