SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are deeply
3saddened to learn of the death of Victor A. Laska of
4Libertyville, who passed away on September 10, 2012; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Victor Laska was born on October 17, 1932, in
6Chicago; he lived in Libertyville and Green Oaks for the past
752 years; he was married to Barbara Laska for 55 years; and
 
8    WHEREAS, Victor Laska was a combat veteran of the Korean
9War and was a member of the Libertyville American Legion Post
10#329; he was the former owner of North Shore Sign in
11Libertyville and was a former director of the Illinois Sign
12Association and division director for the World Sign
13Associates; and
 
14    WHEREAS, Victor Laska was very involved in his community;
15he was a member of St. Joseph Parish, past chairman of the
16Libertyville Chamber of Commerce, member of the plan commission
17of Green Oaks for 10 years, member of the Libertyville Fire
18Protection District, member of the Libertyville Lions Club, and
19a former member of the City Club of Waukgean; and
 
20    WHEREAS, Victor Laska was preceded in death by his sisters,
21Dorothy and Lucille, and by his daughter-in-law, Michelle

1"Mickey" Laska; and
 
2    WHEREAS, Victor Laska is survived by his wife, Barbara; his
3children, Kevin Laska, Duane (Patti) Laska, and Karyn Pierro;
4his grandchildren, Emily, Molly, Hailey, Matthew, Brett, Kyle,
5and Marc Laska and Christopher, Alexander, and Sarah Pierro;
6and his sister, Marlene (Richard) Wincheski; therefore, be it
 
7    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL
8ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
9Victor Laska, and we extend our sincere condolences to his
10family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
11further
 
12    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
13presented to the family of Victor Laska as an expression of our
14deepest sympathy.
