SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Andrew Bradie, Jr., who passed away on
4July 23, 2012; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Andrew Bradie, Jr. was born on May 15, 1929, in
6Memphis, Tennessee; his parents were Andrew and Sarah Bradie;
7he later took residence in Fort Wayne, Indiana during his
8school years before relocating to Chicago; and
 
9    WHEREAS, Andrew Bradie, Jr. was a strong proponent of
10education and a devout man of faith; he enrolled his children
11in St. Dorothy Elementary School and converted to become a
12Roman Catholic in 1957; he remained an active member of the
13parish over the course of his entire life; and
 
14    WHEREAS, Andrew Bradie, Jr. was employed in the parking
15industry for 55 years; he began his career as an attendant, but
16ultimately found himself opening multiple facilities in the
17Midwest and setting up systems to create more efficiently and
18smoothly-operated parking facilities; and
 
19    WHEREAS, Andrew Bradie, Jr. enjoyed taking vacations with
20his family, photography, camping, riding motorcycles and
21horses, grilling, cleaning and polishing his many cars, mystery

1novels, and jazz; and
 
2    WHEREAS, Andrew Bradie, Jr. is preceded in death by his
3son, Keith; his brothers, Israel and Roy; and his
4great-grandchild, Johkye Chase Bradie; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Andrew Bradie, Jr. is survived by his loving wife
6of 63 years, Mary; his devoted children, Dianne and Andrew III;
7his daughters-in-law, Diana and Sylvia; his sister, Sarah; his
8brother, Curvey; his brother-in-law, James McGee (Hazel); his
9grandchildren, Christopher Bradie, Ed.D, Nicole (Anton)
10Braton, Keith Bradie, Jr., and Tiffany (Lloyd) Gregoire Ramsey;
11his great-grandchildren, La'Sha Bradie and Jay Anthony Bradie;
12and his many other relatives and family friends; therefore, be
13it
 
14    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL
15ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with
16his family and friends, the passing of Andrew Bradie, Jr.; and
17be it further
 
18    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
19presented to the family of Andrew Bradie, Jr. as an expression
20of our sympathy.
