SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate were deeply
3saddened to learn of death of Marie Perez of Aurora, who passed
4away on June 21, 2012; and
 
5    WHEREAS, She was married to Peter Perez, a local football
6star and former player for the Chicago Bears, she met him while
7he was playing semi-pro ball in her hometown of Bethlehem,
8Pennsylvania; and
 
9    WHEREAS, She was a veteran of the Woman's Army Corp from
101944 to 1946; she served as a volunteer at the Holy Angels Food
11Pantry for 35 years; she was devoted to her Catholic faith; and
 
12    WHEREAS, She and her husband were most proud of their
13daughter and five sons, many of whom went to work for local
14police and fire departments; and
 
15    WHEREAS, She was preceded in death by her husband, Peter;
16her parents, Mary (Horvath) and Mike Rogacs; and her brothers,
17Joseph and Gaza Rogacs; and
 
18    WHEREAS, She is survived by her children, Peter (Cindy)
19Perez, Michael (Jill) Perez, Patrick (Terrie) Perez, Marsha
20(Perez) (Stuart) Green, Paul (Kara) Perez, and Matthew (Traci)

1Perez; her grandchildren, Pete, Lisa, Ashley, Paige, Brian
2Michael, Stephan, Gabriel, Nathaniel, Paris, Anthony, and
3Andrea; her sister, Elizabeth (Gil) Leesburgh; her brother,
4Louis (Josephine) Rogacs; and many nieces and nephews;
5therefore, be it
 
6    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL
7ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
8Marie Perez, and we extend our sincere condolences to her
9family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it
10further
 
11    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
12presented to her family as an expression of our deepest
13sympathy.
