SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of United States Army Corporal Bryant J.
4"B.J." Luxmore of New Windsor, who was killed in Afghanistan on
5June 10, 2012; and
 
6    WHEREAS, He was born November 3, 1986, in New Windsor, and
7was an avid athlete and student; he graduated from Sherrard
8High School in 2005, where he was a member of the football and
9baseball teams; he then attended Monmouth College and graduated
10from Illinois College in 2009, where he continued his baseball
11career at the collegiate level; and
 
12    WHEREAS, He entered the United States Army in April 2011
13and was assigned to the 1st Battalion, 64th Armor Regiment, 2nd
14Brigade Combat Team, 3rd Infantry Division; he married Jaimie
15Lower on October 8, 2011, and the couple relocated to Fort
16Stewart, Georgia, to begin their life together with their son,
17Lane; and
 
18    WHEREAS, He was deployed to Afghanistan just 2 months ago;
19he was posthumously promoted to corporal, awarded the Bronze
20Star, Purple Heart, and Combat Infantryman Badge; and
 
21    WHEREAS, He was preceded in death by his paternal

1grandfather, Bill Luxmore; and
 
2    WHEREAS, Corporal Bryant J. "B.J." Luxmore is survived by
3his wife, Jaimie; his son, Lane; his parents, Brenda and
4Leonard; his brother and best friend, Brock Luxmore and his
5wife, Melissa; his in-laws, Joe and Laurie Lower; his
6sisters-in-law, Shannon (Scott) Brown, Tricia (Evan) Price,
7and LeAnn Lower; his brother-in-law, Andrew (Courtney) Lower;
8his maternal grandparents, William and Marcia Johnson; his
9paternal grandmother, Donna Jo Luxmore; his wife's maternal
10grandparents, Jimmie and Patricia Sackville; his wife's
11paternal grandparents, Lloyd and Kathryn Lower; and his
12numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews;
13therefore, be it
 
14    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL
15ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with
16his family, friends, and a grateful nation, the passing of
17Corporal Bryant J. "B.J." Luxmore; and be it further
 
18    RESOLVED, That we honor the memory of Corporal Bryant J.
19"B.J." Luxmore and his willingness to serve his country, which
20led to him making the ultimate sacrifice; and be it further
 
21    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
22presented to the family of Corporal Bryant J. "B.J." Luxmore as
