SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Mary Belle Lyons of Peoria, formerly of
4Hanna City, who passed away on June 10, 2012; and
 
5    WHEREAS, She was born March 17, 1931, in Flora, to Jesse
6and Velma (King) Harrison; she married William C. "Bill" Lyons
7on November 30, 1952; and
 
8    WHEREAS, She worked for Illinois Bell and AT&T for over 35
9years before retiring in 1988 as a dispatch controller; she was
10a member of the Telephone Pioneers of America and I.B.E.W.
11Local 34; and
 
12    WHEREAS, She was an avid and longtime volunteer at Peoria
13Neighborhood House, volunteered weekly at Bel-Wood Nursing
14Home for 15 years, and was remembered for her involvement with
15the Hanna City Grade School PTA, as a Cub Scout den mother, and
16as a sheriff's tour guide at the Peoria County Jail; and
 
17    WHEREAS, She was preceded in death by her husband; her
18parents; her brother, Carl D. Harrison; and her sister, L.
19Maxine Bailey Williams; and
 
20    WHEREAS, Mary Belle Lyons is survived by her sons, Cal

1(Joni) Lyons and Kevin Lyons; her grandchildren, Callie (David)
2Jayne, Cara (Joel) Fulkerson, and Julie Lyons; her
3great-grandchildren, Audrey Claire Jayne, Lydia Paige Jayne,
4Ezra Anthony Fulkerson, and Annie Joy Fulkerson; her brother,
5James T. Harrison; and James E. (Tammy) Dalrymple, whom she
6treated as a son; therefore, be it
 
7    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL
8ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with
9her family and friends, the passing of Mary Belle Lyons; and be
10it further
 
11    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
12presented to the family of Mary Belle Lyons as a symbol of our
13sincere sympathy.
