SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Robert M. Evans of Carlinville, who
4passed away on May 21, 2012; and
 
5    WHEREAS, He was born on February 13, 1928 to Morgan and
6Lula (Understahl) Evans in Fillmore; he married Maxine M.
7Toberman on November 11, 1951 in Hillsboro; and
 
8    WHEREAS, He graduated from Fillmore High School with the
9class of 1945; he enjoyed playing basketball and baseball in
10high school and later coached his son's summer baseball teams;
11and
 
12    WHEREAS, He started his career with GTE as a lineman and
13retired in 1984 as a field engineer; he later worked at the
14Carlinville Public Library with his wife; and
 
15    WHEREAS, He was a member of Zion Lutheran Church in
16Carlinville; after retiring he traveled around the country and
17spent time with his grandchildren; he also was known as one of
18the best mushroom hunters in the area; and
 
19    WHEREAS, He was preceded in death by his wife, Maxine; his
20father and mother, Morgan and Lula Evans; his brothers,

1Kenneth, Arthur, Paul, and Morgan Evans; and his sisters, Ruth
2Kirkman and Annie Mutka; and
 
3    WHEREAS, Robert Evans is survived by his daughter, Sue Elk
4(husband, Jack); his sons, Ken Evans and Dave Evans (wife,
5Susan); his grandchildren, Hannah, Joe, Reid, and Sophie Evans;
6his brother, James "Tip" Evans; and several nieces and nephews;
7therefore, be it
 
8    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL
9ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with
10his family and friends, the passing of Robert Evans; and be it
11further
 
12    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
13presented to the family of Robert Evans as a symbol of our
14sincere sympathy.
