SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Lillie Mae Lane, who passed away on May
413, 2012; and
 
5    WHEREAS, She was born on February 21, 1938 in Sharpes,
6Florida, to Alex Lane and Bulah Willis; she was the youngest of
78 siblings; she was married to George Harvey Burrows on July
819, 1959; and
 
9    WHEREAS, She worked for First National Bank for over 20
10years, and after retirement, opened Lil's Fashions Boutique in
11Chicago; after retiring from Lil's Fashion Boutique, she
12continued to work with charities and help others; and
 
13    WHEREAS, She was a member of the Faith Community of Saint
14Sabina Church; she joined the Ladies Auxiliary of the Knights
15of Peter Claver Court 192 in 1992; she became a Gracious Lade,
16the highest degree, in 2010; she was a junior daughter
17councilor and recipient of the Thea Bowman Award; and
 
18    WHEREAS, She was preceded in death by her parents; her
19brothers, Russell, Clinton, Irving, and Washington; and her
20sisters, Bernice and Lola; and

1    WHEREAS, Lillie Mae Lane is survived by her husband,
2George; her daughters, Sharon and Gwendolyn; her
3grandchildren, Christian and Brandon Ogbebor (Sharon),
4Brittany and Blair Burrows (Gwendolyn); her
5great-grandchildren, Damarrion and Kierre Ogbebor (Brandon),
6and Christian Ogbebor Jr. (Christian); and a host of nieces,
7nephews, other relatives, and friends; therefore, be it
 
8    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL
9ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with
10her family and friends, the passing of Lillie Mae Lane; and be
11it further
 
12    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
13presented to the family of Lillie Mae Lane as a symbol of our
14sincere sympathy.
