SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Paul E. Gardner of Bartonville, who
4passed away on April 21, 2012; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Paul Gardner was born on September 11, 1928, in
6Peoria; his parents were Charles "Al" and Anna M. Gardner; he
7married Nancy Paul on December 21, 1979, in Eureka; and
 
8    WHEREAS, Paul Gardner served his country with pride and
9distinction as a member of the United States Navy at the end of
10World War II; and
 
11    WHEREAS, Paul Gardner was a 42-year journeyman electrician
12that worked out of International Brotherhood of Electrical
13Workers Local 34; and
 
14    WHEREAS, Paul Gardner was a member of St. Anthony Catholic
15Church in Bartonville; and
 
16    WHEREAS, Paul Gardner enjoyed photography, flower
17gardening, and spending time with his grandchildren; he also
18enjoyed the water and was a boater for over 20 years; and
 
19    WHEREAS, Paul Gardner was preceded in death by his parents;

1his 4 brothers; and his sister; and
 
2    WHEREAS, Paul Gardner is survived by his wife, Nancy; his
3sons, Thomas (Elizabeth) Gardner, Gerald Gardner, Daniel
4(Silvana) Gardner, and Benjamin (Tami) Gardner; his daughters,
5Christine (Steven) Simpson and Elizabeth Gardner; his stepson,
6Steven Paul; his stepdaughters, Sherry (Rex) Mustain and Sandra
7(John) Post; his sisters, Sister Lucille Gardner, Mildred
8Bannister, and Frances (Marvin) Ioeger; his 18 grandchildren;
9and his 8 great-grandchildren; therefore, be it
 
10    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL
11ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with
12his family and friends, the passing of Paul E. Gardner; and be
13it further
 
14    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
15presented to the family of Paul Gardner as an expression of our
16sympathy.
