SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Ruth Paul Caudle of Vernon Hills, who
4passed away on February 24, 2012; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Ruth Caudle was born in Haiti, but moved to the
6United States as a teenager to pursue an education; and
 
7    WHEREAS, Ruth Caudle never forgot her native country of
8Haiti and helped raise money to build and support a school for
9underprivileged children there; she helped raised money for the
10Spirit of Truth School in Haiti, which opened in 2003, and
11continued to raise money for the school by making a CD for
12sale, authoring a children's book, and organizing a 5K/10K race
13with proceeds going to the school; she also led teams of people
14on mission trips to Haiti; after the devastating earthquake in
15Haiti in 2010, she, along with her husband and a small group of
16people, traveled to Haiti to deliver about 140 tents and other
17supplies for earthquake victims; and
 
18    WHEREAS, Ruth Caudle is survived by her husband, Brian, and
19her 3 children; therefore, be it
 
20    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL
21ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with

1her family and friends, the passing of Ruth Paul Caudle; and be
2it further
 
3    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
4presented to the family of Ruth Caudle as an expression of our
5sympathy.
