SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Richard A. "Dick" Jones; and
 
4    WHEREAS, Richard Jones was born on July 23, 1932; he was a
5graduate of Aurora East High School and Millikin University;
6and
 
7    WHEREAS, Richard Jones served his country as a member of
8the United States Navy as a jet pilot aboard the USS Lexington;
9and
 
10    WHEREAS, Richard Jones had a long and distinguished career
11in the aggregate and concrete business in the Chicago area; he
12ultimately served as vice president of sales for Material
13Services Corporation; and
 
14    WHEREAS, Richard Jones was active as a business leader,
15having served several terms as the president of the Illinois
16Roadbuilders Association; he also served in numerous positions
17with his church, the school board, and the PTA over the years;
18and
 
19    WHEREAS, Richard Jones was preceded in death by his
20parents, Gretchen and Kermit; his sister, Marilyn Hix; and his

1son, Jeffry; and
 
2    WHEREAS, Richard Jones is survived by his wife of 56 years,
3Johanette; his son, Daniel (Karil); his daughters, Lynette
4(Bill) Alderisio and KC (Dan) Hyer; his grandchildren, Katie,
5Will, and Maggie Alderisio; and his nieces, Peggy Lamphere,
6Debi Hix, Linda Kolb, and Janet Hix; therefore, be it
 
7    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL
8ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with
9his family and friends, the passing of Richard A. "Dick" Jones;
10and be it further
 
11    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
12presented to the family of Richard Jones as an expression of
13our sympathy.
