SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Leon A. Little of Bethalto, who passed
4away on February 5, 2012; and
 
5    WHEREAS, He was born on July 7, 1931, in Jerseyville, the
6son of Levi and Salome (Middendorf) Little; he married Barbara
7A. (Schelle) on October 18, 1958, at St. Patrick's Catholic
8Church in Alton; and
 
9    WHEREAS, He was a graduate of Jerseyville High School and
10served his country in the United States Navy; he was employed
11at Shell Oil Company for 25 years, retiring in 1991, and was a
12member of the local Carpenters Union No. 377; and
 
13    WHEREAS, He was a member of Our Lady Queen of Peace
14Catholic Church, the Wood River Moose Lodge No. 1349, and the
15Bethalto Knights of Columbus Council No. 4688, where he was a
163rd Degree Knight and a past Grand Knight; he enjoyed golfing,
17watching sports, going to all his grandchildren's sporting
18events with his wife, wood crafting, and being outside; and
 
19    WHEREAS, He was preceded in death by his parents and his
20sisters, Opal Becker, Alice Devening, and Doris Madson; and

1    WHEREAS, Leon Little is survived by his wife, Barbara; his
2son, Phillip Little; his daughter and son-in-law, Shelley and
3Terry Eberlin; his grandchildren, Ryan, Kerri, Keenan, Autumn,
4and Tess; his former daughter-in-law, Jill (Pickering) Little;
5and his nephews, nieces, cousins, and friends; therefore, be it
 
6    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL
7ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with
8his family and friends, the passing of Leon Little; and be it
9further
 
10    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
11presented to the family of Leon Little as a symbol of our
12sincere sympathy.
