SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Shirley Kelling Miller of Peoria, who
4passed away on February 1, 2012; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Shirley Miller was born on August 27, 1925, in
6Chicago; she was the daughter of Edwin H. and Berenice Fern
7Kelling; she married Don M. Miller on July 12, 1947, in Peoria;
8and
 
9    WHEREAS, Shirley Miller graduated from St. Cecilia Grade
10School and Academy of Our Lady High School; and
 
11    WHEREAS, Shirley Miller was employed as an executive
12secretary at multiple locations, including the Hotel Pere
13Marquette and the Catholic Diocese of Peoria; and
 
14    WHEREAS, Shirley Miller was a member of St. Vincent de Paul
15Catholic Church and the Sigma Phi Gamma International Sorority,
16Beta Iota Chapter; and
 
17    WHEREAS, Shirley Miller loved traveling and playing
18pinochle; and
 
19    WHEREAS, Shirley Miller was preceded in death by her

1parents and her brother, Edwin "Bud" Kelling; and
 
2    WHEREAS, Shirley Miller is survived by her husband, Don;
3her daughters, Barbara Miller and Christine Sinclair; her
4son-in-law, Jim Sinclair; and her grandchildren, Michael,
5Elizabeth, David, and Daniel Sinclair; therefore, be it
 
6    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL
7ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with
8her family and friends, the passing of Shirley Kelling Miller;
9and be it further
 
10    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
11presented to the family of Shirley Miller as an expression of
12our sympathy.
