SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Lillie Davis, who passed away on August
421, 2011; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Lillie Davis was born on June 17, 1913, in
6Tutwiler, Mississippi; her parents were Howard and Daisy
7Melton; and
 
8    WHEREAS, Lillie Davis accepted Christ as her Lord and
9Savior and became a member of New Hope Baptist Church of
10Memphis, Tennessee; she was a member of the church's Mother
11Board for several years and was embraced by everyone that she
12came into contact with; she spent the majority of her life
13caring and blessing those she knew and loved; and
 
14    WHEREAS, Lillie Davis was preceded in death by her husband,
15Earl Davis Sr.; her parents; her 12 brothers and sisters; her
16children, Flabe Hunter and Othie Lee Davis; and her son-in-law,
17Lucious Hunter; and
 
18    WHEREAS, Lillie Davis is survived by her children, Lillie
19Mae McBride (Gene McBride), Earl Davis Jr., and Louise Davis;
20her 25 grandchildren; more than 20 great-grandchildren; and her
21many nieces, nephews, and loved ones; therefore, be it

1    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL
2ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with
3her family and friends, the passing of Lillie Davis; and be it
4further
 
5    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
6presented to the family of Lillie Davis as an expression of our
7sympathy.
