SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Joe Eugene Dunbar of Benton, who passed
4away on September 7, 2011; and
 
5    WHEREAS, He was born December 23, 1935, in Benton, the son
6of Thompson and Pearl Dunbar; he married the former Joyce Lee
7Goff on July 2, 1955; and
 
8    WHEREAS, He was a retired Illinois State Police trooper
9from District 13; he served his country during the Korean War
10in the United States Air Force; and
 
11    WHEREAS, He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles
12Aerie 2898 and American Legion Post 280, both of Benton; he was
13a member of the First Baptist Church of Benton, where he
14faithfully served as a volunteer with the Brown Bag Lunch
15Program for children; and
 
16    WHEREAS, He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife;
17his brother, Frank Dunbar; and his sister; and
 
18    WHEREAS, Joe Dunbar is survived by his sons, Rob Dunbar
19(Jennifer) and Scott Dunbar; his daughter, Cindy (Kyle)
20Schmitt; his grandchildren, Alecia Dunbar, Andrew Scott

1Dunbar, Jeffrey Moore, Dustin Dunbar, Kara Dunbar, Daniel
2Schmitt, Jama Dunbar, and Kymberly Schmitt; his
3great-grandchildren, Dawson, Azhure, Shanndyn, and Kamden; and
4his brother, Thompson "Junior" Dunbar; therefore, be it
 
5    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL
6ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with
7his family and friends, the passing of Joe Dunbar; and be it
8further
 
9    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
10presented to the family of Joe Dunbar as a symbol of our
11sincere sympathy.
