SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Charinez Edna Jefferson of Chicago, who
4passed away on August 16, 2011; and
 
5    WHEREAS, She was born on October 20, 1993 in Chicago; she
6attended John M. Smyth and Marquette Elementary School; she was
7in her junior year at Banner High School; and
 
8    WHEREAS, She confessed her hope in Christ on November 14,
92010, under the leadership of Pastor John F. Hannah; she was a
10warm, outgoing woman who loved to shop, do different things
11with her hair, cook, and lend a helping hand; and
 
12    WHEREAS, She became a mother at the age of 16 and accepted
13all the responsibilities associated with the role; she loved to
14come home after school and spend time with her baby; and
 
15    WHEREAS, She was preceded in death by her
16great-grandmother, Edna Clark; her grandmothers, Inez Williams
17and Audrey Williams; her grandfather, Luke Jefferson; her
18sister, Jamyra Nash; and her aunt, Delores Brown; and
 
19    WHEREAS, Charinez Edna Jefferson is survived by her sons,
20Kamaerra Delucus and Kahmani Jabez Mims-Jefferson; her mother,

1Debbie Jefferson; her sister, Candiss; her brothers, Pierre,
2Virgil, and Deondre; her grandfather, Tyrone Wallace; her
3nephews, Virgil and Vershaun; her niece, Andrea; her
4great-aunt, Mable Jeffries; her companion and father of her
5children, Jahkarri Mims; her step-sister, Courtney Nash; her
6special cousin, Terrisha Williams; her best friends, Woosie,
7Jaquan, Kadijah, Ariel, and Tickie; her aunts, uncles, and a
8host of cousins and friends; therefore, be it
 
9    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL
10ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with
11her family and friends, the passing of Charinez Jefferson; and
12be it further
 
13    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
14presented to the family of Charinez Jefferson as a symbol of
15our sincere sympathy.
