2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to |
3 | | learn of the death of Mildred Marie (Volz) Janovetz of Peoria, |
4 | | who passed away on July 26, 2011; and
|
5 | | WHEREAS, She was born on November 9, 1913, the only |
6 | | daughter of Joseph and Katherine (Schweinbold) Bolz; she |
7 | | attended St. Boniface School and graduated as valedictorian of |
8 | | her class at the Academy of Our Lady in 1931, when she was |
9 | | awarded a full college scholarship but was unable to accept |
10 | | because of the Depression; and
|
11 | | WHEREAS, She worked in the public sector until her marriage |
12 | | on October 7, 1937, to Eugene Henry Janovetz at St. Boniface |
13 | | Church; she was a lifelong devoted Catholic and a member of |
14 | | Sacred Heart and St. Vincent de Paul parishes in Peoria; she |
15 | | belonged to numerous religious and community organizations; |
16 | | and
|
17 | | WHEREAS, Along with being a devoted wife and mother, she |
18 | | had many talents, including making quilts, needlepoint, |
19 | | embroidery, knitting, and crocheting items; she was a wonderful |
20 | | cook and her recipes continue in a family cookbook; and
|

She was preceded in death by her husband; her |
