SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Theron Martel "Touche'" Lykes of Chicago,
4who passed away on March 27, 2011; and
 
5    WHEREAS, He was born on June 23, 1963; he was baptized at
6St. Mels Catholic Church; and
 
7    WHEREAS, He attended Providence St. Mel in Chicago,
8Hillcrest High School in Country Club Hills, Bishop College in
9Dallas, Texas, and Prairie State Jr. College in Chicago
10Heights; and
 
11    WHEREAS, He was a gifted artist and actor; he did
12voice-overs, videos, commercials, television, and movie roles;
13he appeared in the movies Soul Food, Barbershop and Barbershop
14II, The Fugitive, Misled, and Let's Go to Prison; he also
15starred in the television series Prison Break; and
 
16    WHEREAS, He was also a talented craftsmen and salesman; he
17made one-of-a-kind jewelry designs and saw the beauty in
18everything; and
 
19    WHEREAS, Theron Lykes leaves no one to mourn, but everyone
20to celebrate; therefore, be it

1    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL
2ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with
3his family and friends, the passing of Theron Lykes; and be it
4further
 
5    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
6presented to the family of Theron Lykes as a symbol of our
7sincere sympathy.
