SYNOPSIS AS INTRODUCED:
 
625 ILCS 5/3-699 new

    Amends the Illinois Vehicle Code. Provides for the issuance of National Wild Turkey Federation license plates. Provides that in addition to the appropriate registration fees, an applicant for the special plate shall be charged a fee of $15 at original issuance and $2 at renewal, which shall be deposited into the Secretary of State Special License Plate Fund.

1    AN ACT concerning transportation.
 
2    Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
3represented in the General Assembly:
 
4    Section 5. The Illinois Vehicle Code is amended by adding
5Section 3-699 as follows:
 
6    (625 ILCS 5/3-699 new)
7    Sec. 3-699. National Wild Turkey Federation license
8plates.
9    (a) The Secretary, upon receipt of all applicable fees and
10applications made in the form prescribed by the Secretary, may
11issue special registration plates designated as National Wild
12Turkey Federation license plates. The special plates issued
13under this Section shall be affixed only to passenger vehicles
14of the first division or motor vehicles of the second division
15weighing not more than 8,000 pounds. Plates issued under this
16Section shall expire according to the multi-year procedure
17established by Section 3-414.1 of this Code.
18    (b) The design and color of the special plates shall be
19wholly within the discretion of the Secretary. The Secretary
20may allow the plates to be issued as vanity plates or
21personalized plates under Section 3-405.1 of this Code. The
22Secretary shall prescribe stickers or decals as provided under
23Section 3-412 of this Code.

1    (c) An applicant for the special plate shall be charged a
2$15 fee, in addition to the appropriate registration fee, for
3original issuance. The $15 fee shall be deposited into the
4Secretary of State Special License Plate Fund, to be used by
5the Secretary to help defray the administrative processing
6costs. For each registration renewal period, a $2 fee, in
7addition to the appropriate registration fee, shall be charged
8and shall be deposited into the Secretary of State Special
9License Plate Fund.
