HOUSE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
3Representatives are saddened to learn of the death of Dan Claud
4"Dan'O" "Dan the Mailman" Belk of Wildwood, who passed away on
5April 16, 2012; and
 
6    WHEREAS, He was born September 18, 1958, in Olympia,
7Washington and has dedicated his life to making people smile;
8and
 
9    WHEREAS, The United States Navy benefitted by his 22 years
10of combined active duty and reserve service; he also worked a
11dedicated 22 years with the United States Postal Service in
12Grayslake; most of those years were in The Manor, where Dan's
13life was touched beyond words by the people residing there; and
 
14    WHEREAS, He loved the outdoors, where he spent countless
15hours fishing and hunting; he loved to make people laugh and so
16many people were blessed by his humor and caring nature; and
 
17    WHEREAS, He was preceded in death by his parents, Preston
18Jack Belk and Jimmie Nell Massey; and his brother, Bruce Belk;
19and
 
20    WHEREAS, He was a loving and devoted husband to his wife of

131 years, Karen (nee Calvino) Belk; the loving father of Rachel
2Belk, Katie (Terreance) Holley, and Shaun Belk; and brother of
3his siblings, David Belk, Jimmy Belk, and Christena (Ronald)
4Rogers; he is also survived by his in-laws, Jim and Connie
5Calvino and his entire extended family; therefore, be it
 
6    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
7NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
8we mourn, along with his family and friends, the passing of Dan
9Belk; and be it further
 
10    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
11presented to the family of Dan Belk as a symbol of our sincere
12sympathy.
