HOUSE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
3Representatives are pleased to congratulate the faculty,
4staff, and students of Orland School District #135 for their
5innovative initiatives regarding student CPR/AED/First Aid
6training; and
 
7    WHEREAS, Orland School District #135 is composed of 10
8schools, with approximately 5,000 kids attending kindergarten
9through 8th grade; and
 
10    WHEREAS, Under the direction of Superintendent Dennis
11Soustek, Orland School District #135 was one of the first
12school districts in the State to implement CPR/AED/First Aid
13training into its curriculum as part of the physical education
14requirements; and
 
15    WHEREAS, Three junior highs within Orland School District
16#135, Century Junior High, Jerling Junior High, and Orland
17Junior High, participate in the AHA program, which is taught by
18the district's school nurses and physical education faculty;
19approximately 800 7th grade children go through the program
20every year; and
 
21    WHEREAS, The faculty, staff, and students of Orland School

1District #135 serve as models of hard work, integrity, and
2dedication for the people of the State of Illinois; therefore,
3be it
 
4    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
5NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
6we congratulate the faculty, staff, and students of Orland
7School District #135 for their outstanding student
8CPR/AED/First Aid training program and wish them continued
9success and happiness in the future; and be it further
 
10    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
11presented to Orland School District #135 as a symbol of our
12esteem and respect.
