HOUSE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
3Representatives are pleased to congratulate Joseph John Jacks
4on the occasion of attaining the coveted rank of Eagle Scout;
5and
 
6    WHEREAS, Joseph Jacks joined the Cub Scouts upon entering
7the first grade; he earned the highest rank in Cub Scouts, the
8Arrow of Life, in January of 2005; and
 
9    WHEREAS, As a Boy Scout, Joseph Jacks joined Boy Scout
10Troop 96 in February of 2005; he subsequently advanced to the
11ranks of Tenderfoot in June of 2005, Second Class Scout on July
1215, 2005, and First Class Scout on October 3, 2005; and
 
13    WHEREAS, As a First Class Scout, Joseph Jacks served as a
14Den Chief for Troop 96 and earned the Den Chief Service Award
15for exemplary services to Cub Scouting while representing Troop
1696; during this time, he also served as the Troop's Assistant
17Patrol Leader for the Sputnik Patrol; he reached the rank of
18Star Scout on March 19, 2007; and
 
19    WHEREAS, After earning the required 11 Merit Badges and
20acting as a Patrol Leader and Troop Guide, Joseph Jacks
21completed the requirements for the Rank of Life Scout on

1September 15, 2008; as a Life Scout, he continued to be a Guide
2for the Troop during 2009 and 2010, training newly installed
3Scouts and helping them to become troop leaders; and
 
4    WHEREAS, Joseph Jacks began his Eagle Project, the
5construction of fish habitats for Gages Lake, in the spring of
62009; he completed the final steps of this conservation project
7in June of 2011; over a 2-year period, he created and installed
820 unique fish habitat structures that were strategically
9placed in Gages Lake in Lake County; and
 
10    WHEREAS, After earning 31 Merit Badges, Joseph Jacks
11completed his Eagle Scout Board of Review on August 16, 2011;
12his Eagle Court of Honor was held on October 1, 2011; and
 
13    WHEREAS, Joseph Jacks is a resident of Wildwood and is
14currently a senior at Warren Township High School in Gurnee; he
15enjoys playing the guitar and drums and plans to study business
16and engineering after high school; and
 
17    WHEREAS, Joseph Jacks serves as a model of hard work,
18integrity, and dedication for the people of the State of
19Illinois; therefore, be it
 
20    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
21NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that

1we congratulate Joseph John Jacks on the occasion of attaining
2the coveted rank of Eagle Scout and wish him continued success
3and happiness in the future; and be it further
 
4    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
5presented to Joseph Jacks as a symbol of our esteem and
6respect.
