HOUSE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
3Representatives are pleased to congratulate Mary Alice D'Arcy
4on her retirement as President and CEO of Easter Seals DuPage
5and the Fox Valley Region; and
 
6    WHEREAS, For 30 years, Mary Alice D'Arcy has helped create
7an incredible culture of caring and philanthropy for Easter
8Seals; she began as a social worker in "the little red school
9house" on Park Boulevard in Villa Park, and has continued to
10work with children and their families, helping them become all
11that they can be; and
 
12    WHEREAS, As the Program Director, and for the last 15 years
13as the President and CEO of Easter Seals DuPage and the Fox
14Valley Region, she has nurtured and developed Easter Seals into
15one of the largest and most highly regarded pediatric
16outpatient rehabilitation centers in the nation; she has earned
17the respect of her staff, board of directors, and colleagues
18for her integrity and her drive to provide the best, most
19family-friendly and cutting-edge therapies for the thousands
20of children who have come to Easter Seals over the years; and
 
21    WHEREAS, She has been a tireless advocate for quality and
22the advancement of pediatric disability services; those who

1have had the pleasure of working with her have experienced her
2kindness, friendship, purposefulness, persistence, and grace;
3and
 
4    WHEREAS, Her time with Easter Seals includes serving as
5Director of Social Services from 1981 to 1983, Program Director
6from 1983 to 1990, Director of Ancillary Services from 1990 to
7March of 1995, Manager of Family Support Services from March of
81995 to November of 1995, and as President and Chief Executive
9Officer from November of 1995 to her retirement; and
 
10    WHEREAS, She will continue with Easter Seals as a volunteer
11in government affairs; she and her husband, both Chicago Cubs
12fans, plan on attending the team's spring training camp in
13Arizona for a week; therefore, be it
 
14    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
15NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
16we congratulate Mary Alice D'Arcy on her retirement and wish
17her continued success in all her future endeavors; and be it
18further
 
19    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
20presented to Mary Alice D'Arcy as a symbol of our respect and
21esteem.
