Amends the Transitional Bilingual Education Article of the School Code. Requires the State Board of Education to implement the recommendations of the Advisory Council on Bilingual Education contained in the Council's December 2011 report before the 2012-2013 school year. Effective immediately.

| 2 | | Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,

| 3 | | represented in the General Assembly:

| 4 | | Section 5. The School Code is amended by adding Section |
| 5 | | 14C-13.5 as follows:
|
| 6 | | (105 ILCS 5/14C-13.5 new) |
| 7 | | Sec. 14C-13.5. Implementation of Advisory Council's |
| 8 | | recommendations. The State Board of Education shall implement |
| 9 | | the recommendations of the Advisory Council on Bilingual |
| 10 | | Education contained in the Council's December 2011 report |
| 11 | | before the 2012-2013 school year.

| 12 | | Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect upon |
| 13 | | becoming law.
