SYNOPSIS AS INTRODUCED:

65 ILCS 5/11-20-17 new

    Amends the Counties Code and the Illinois Municipal Code. Provides that the board of health of a county, multi-county health department, or municipality, as applicable, shall issue a permit for the operation of a seasonal food service establishment. Sets forth procedures concerning the renewal of a license. Provides that "seasonal food service establishment" means a food establishment, other than a mobile food establishment, that is operated for no more than 5 months in a licensing period. Effective immediately.

1    AN ACT concerning local government.
 
2    Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
3represented in the General Assembly:
 
4    Section 5. The Counties Code is amended by adding Section
55-25028 as follows:
 
6    (55 ILCS 5/5-25028 new)
7    Sec. 5-25028. Seasonal food service permits. The board of
8health of a county or multi-county health department shall
9issue a permit for the operation of a seasonal food service
10establishment. In the case of a seasonal food service
11establishment, a person or entity seeking license renewal shall
12submit an application for renewal to the board of health of a
13county or multi-county health department, as applicable,
14before commencing operation in a new licensing period.
15"Seasonal food service establishment" means a food
16establishment, other than a mobile food establishment, that is
17operated for no more than 5 months in a licensing period.
 
18    Section 10. The Illinois Municipal Code is amended by
19adding Section 11-20-17 as follows:

7establishment, other than a mobile food establishment, that is
8operated for no more than 5 months in a licensing period.
 
9    Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect upon
10becoming law.
