AMENDMENT TO HOUSE BILL 4566 




2    AMENDMENT NO. ______. Amend House Bill 4566 by replacing 
3everything after the enacting clause with the following:


 
 
4    "Section 5. The Abused and Neglected Child Reporting Act is 
5amended  by adding Section 8.2a as follows:
 
6    (325 ILCS 5/8.2a new)
7    Sec. 8.2a. Developmental and social-emotional screening; 
8indicated finding of abuse or neglect. When a child has been 
9adjudicated as an abused or neglected child, the Department 
10shall conduct a developmental and social-emotional screening 
11within 60 days after the Department is granted guardianship of 
12that child. When a child under the age of 3 is engaged in 
13intact family services, the Department shall offer to conduct a 
14developmental screening within 60 days after the Department 
15opens the case. For children in intact cases who are ages 3 
16through 5, the intact caseworker shall refer the child for a

1developmental screening. The Department shall promulgate rules 
2necessary for the implementation of this Section. 
 
 
3    Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect upon 
4becoming law.".
