SYNOPSIS AS INTRODUCED:
 
735 ILCS 5/9-206  from Ch. 110, par. 9-206

    Amends the Code of Civil Procedure. Provides that a written notice to terminate a year-to-year lease of farm land, unless there is a written agreement to the contrary, shall be given by August 1 of the then current year (instead of in writing by not less than 4 months prior to the end of the year of letting).

1    AN ACT concerning civil law.
 
2    Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
3represented in the General Assembly:
 
4    Section 5. The Code of Civil Procedure is amended by
5changing Section 9-206 as follows:
 
6    (735 ILCS 5/9-206)  (from Ch. 110, par. 9-206)
7    Sec. 9-206. Notice to terminate tenancy of farm land.
8Unless otherwise agreed to in writing, in In order to terminate
9tenancies from year to year of farm lands, occupied on a crop
10share, livestock share, cash rent or other rental basis, the
11notice to quit shall be given in writing no later than August 1
12of the then current calendar year not less than 4 months prior
13to the end of the year of letting. Such notice may not be
14waived in a verbal lease. The notice to quit may be
15substantially in the following form:
16    To A.B.: You are hereby notified that I have elected to
17terminate your lease of the farm premises now occupied by you,
18being (here describe the premises) and you are hereby further
19notified to quit and deliver up possession of the same to me at
20the end of the lease year, the last day of such year being
21(here insert the last day of the lease year).
